A healthy lunch followed by CW cupcakes!
I decided to host an event at home for the launch of Autumn Winter 17 and worked with Emma who helps me with my PR to select a group of people who we thought we could work with throughout the next season. We chose five ladies who we both follow on Instagram who have a great sense of style, lots of followers and also wear scarves. We also chose a couple of ladies from a more traditional print background.
Everyone arrived in the morning and much chatting was done over coffee. Some of the guests knew each other but others had never met but I am pretty sure they all follow each other so it was fascinating for everyone to meet in the flesh. When you follow people you don’t know on Instagram you start to feel that you really know them but as you know there is no substitution for a bit of face to face!
We then spent an hour in the CW studio with me talking through why I started the business, how it is evolving, and talking through the key highlights of this collection. For me it was interesting to hear people’s comments and also to see what they gravitated towards. They all tried on lots of scarves, we did a bit of scarf styling and also talked about trends for the season. Colour seems to be the big thing for AW17!
After lunch in the kitchen everyone then had plenty of time to take pictures of themselves in different scarves and style them with lots of different outfits in various locations. It was so much fun for me to see how everyone puts things together and also I was delighted to see that a large cross section of the scarves were featured.
I hope to work with all the attendees throughout the season as it is early days yet. Wait till the weather gets colder and we will start sharing images of all the amazing cashmere!
