Staycation Style

I’m off to Scotland soon for a summer break and am already starting to think about what to pack.
Much as I’d like to take lots of floaty sundresses, chances are the UK weather will typically be very up and down, so a more substantial wardrobe is probably called for.I think jeans and chinos will create the core to my packing. Then I can add a selection of summer blouses with light knitwear should the temperatures start to dip. I’ve pulled together some classic staycation looks that should stand me in good stead. Scroll down and take a look…

CLEVERLY WRAPPED

FADED BLUE TWO POCKET JEANS £89

A faded denim jean will go with everything in your wardrobe and looks particularly chic worn with a pretty black top. Add chunky black sandals to create a balanced base.

Tie a bold Breton sweater around the waist so that it’s on hand should you need it.

STONE CATHY PANTALON £114

One of my favourite combinations for summer – light coloured chinos, a nautical stripe and some denim. It always looks so fresh and beach-ready, even if you’re staying no where near the sea.

A cotton hoodie is perhaps the ultimate staycation must-have, on call 24/7 to beat off the chill.

CLEVERLY WRAPPED

TIGER LILY TWO POCKET JEANS

Brightly coloured jeans remain firmly in the spotlight this season, but if you prefer your wardrobe to whisper rather than roar, you can tone them down with a classic white shirt or tee and a pair of trainers

For the more adventurous amongst you, head for contrasting brights and colour block your look.

LAVINIA USED BLUE JEANS £143

What could be more perfect for summer than a pair of boyfriend fit jeans and a classic striped shirt in the softest, finest cotton. If the heat is on, wear the shirt open over a white cotton vest top to create some valuable ventilation.

Roughly roll up the sleeves to give a more relaxed and laidback vibe.

FIVE JEANS

CORAL CATHY PANTALON. £114

These vibrant three quarter length trousers have a slim silhouette making them balance beautifully with a looser fitting top. Keep the styling super easy by opting for neutral tops eg. white, cream or navy. FYI – we call a stripe a neutral too!

These jeans are very versatile and would look great worn with a denim jacket, a black blazer or a khaki army jacket.

CLEVERLY WRAPPED

COBALT TWO POCKET JEANS £89

These cool and contemporary cobalt blue jeans epitomise summer and are a welcome alternative to regular denim. Wonderfully flattering and brilliantly bottom lifting, they look just as great with neutrals as they do with a softly coloured  pastel.

A sleeveless knit is the perfect partner and gives the outfit a stylish, on-trend vibe.
