Hello Autumn and Transitional Dressing
As we progress ever further into September, it’s time to put away our summer wardrobes and commit to the season ahead. With temperature fluctuations expected at this time of year, strategic layering is the way to go. Lighter weight cardigans and sweaters that can easily be added over a classic cotton tee. I’ve therefore put together 7 key looks perfect for a number of different scenarios.
Take a look – I hope you feel inspired!
How wonderful we can meet up with one another again for an evening out – the perfect excuse to dress up! These beautifully tailored, super soft olive leather trousers from MDK are a great choice for the occasion. Team with pretty knitwear, a vibrant scarf and statement belt bag to complete the look.
Take the stress out of a hectic day in a pair of relaxed Five Jeans cargo pants. Team with a neutral sweater, hands-free belt bag and our Newlab sneakers to stylishly quicken your pace. A vibrant scarf lifts the look…
SUNDAY BRUNCH
Who doesn’t aspire to a little weekend chic, especially if we’re treating ourselves to a relaxed Sunday brunch. A great pair of denims – these CW ones have just enough elastane to accommodate generous portions – worn with a pretty floral blouse and cropped cardigan create an easy-to-wear but stylish look.
I love a trip into town but if I’m on my feet all day I like to to feel comfortable but composed from sun up to sun down. Easy to achieve with these Caly Pantalon trousers made in a stretchy cotton that holds its shape. A light knit layered over a tee and these unbelievably comfortable Phillip Hog boots, (which incidentally add a little extra height!) are perfect choices too. A quirky scarf gives the outfit extra punch!
DATE NIGHT
A romantic night out is the perfect escape from the routine of everyday life and well worth dressing up for. This sumptuous, plum coloured velvet blouse from Des Petits Hauts is an instant mood lifter. The high ruffle neck is super glamorous and a stunning wool scarf adds even further excitement. Raw hem, dark denims and ankle boots give sass and edge.
I love this season’s trend for pretty, midi/maxi length dresses teamed with chunky boots. I must admit I wasn’t sure at first but I’m now converted having seen this look heartily embraced by fashion stylists, colleagues and friends alike! This Valia shirt dress looks great with Philip Hog‘s Ivory Asta boot and Chico Soleil‘s faux fur gilet. Hoop earrings from Louise Hendricks completes the look.
An autumnal stroll may be a low-key outing but it can still be stylish. These loose fit, elasticated waist, paperbag style trousers are a relaxed but on-trend option. Team with a cashmere mix jumper, vibrant scarf and hands-free leather belt bag. Cute dog optional.
