SS15 Silk Scarf Styling

As I sit and write this I am dressed in my usual uniform of skinny jeans, chunky boots, a cashmere jumper and a scarf. However, if I had a more glamorous life, or lived in a city I think I would be styled in a more chic spring outfit (especially when the sun makes an appearance). At this time of year I would transform a simple silk shirt with a gorgeous silk scarf, stick to my skinnies and add a tailored jacket – the perfect transitional outfit.

The top two scarves featured above are from a new designer to Cleverly Wrapped called Sabina Savage. My friend Jemima discovered her at The Scoop London show and came back with all manner of literature telling me I HAD to stock her as she will be the next big thing in the scarf world. I must say I am inclined to agree – so thank you Jemima! Her scarves are serious works of art & her SS15 collection ‘Folklore Japonica’ is inspired by traditional Japanese art (they are phenomenal designs!). All of Sabina Savage’s scarves are absolutely stunning and the quality of the silk twill and the Italian craftsmanship are truly luxurious. She is already starting to be stocked by the very best boutiques all over the globe and I feel proud that we too are representing Sabina from the beginning.

I don’t think any of the styling above requires any explanation – that’s the beauty of them – they are so easy to wear and will be the difference between an ordinary outfit and an extraordinary outfit.

If you fancy your silk scarves a bit more vibrant but still value craftsmanship and quality, then Age of Reason is the designer for you. Age of Reason scarves are described by designer Ali Mapletoft as “luxury British scarves with a playful punk twist”. This is the second second time we have stocked Age of Reason and this time we have gone for some smaller silk scarves to add a splash of colour to your wardrobe. The third row of scarves above show the scarves tied at the neck but they would also look fab tied round the wrist, around the handles of a hand bag or even in your hair. Think out of the box and these small silk squares can travel a long way.

Now if small scarves are not your thing and you want something with a real wow factor then the final images above are of the Bubble Wrap scarf by Age of Reason. Age of Reason designer Ali digitally manipulated an image of bubble wrap from her mobile phone and produced this show stopper. I love it and it’s a perfect candidate for being worn as shown in a big v at the front maybe with a silk shirt or white t-shirt and jacket. I am also itching to frame this scarf and turn it into a work of art…but that’s another story!
