Featured Designer: Alexia Parmigiani

The first trade show I ever went to was Scoop. Trade shows can be overwhelming because of the sheer quantity of exhibitors, not to mention the hoards of rather intimidating looking buyers. Luckily just hunting down exceptional scarves does your editing for you. When I see a scarf designer I tend to hover just outside their area and eye the product up from afar before deciding whether to take the plunge and go inside.

When I first saw Alexia’s scarves the hovering didn’t last for very long. I felt that I had discovered a scarf brand that had been designed especially for me! I loved every single one, got highly overexcited and started ordering immediately. As I sit here writing this I am wearing “Call me in Sepia”. I love wearing it with a neutral outfit and folding it into a triangle shape that hangs down at the front. The metal edging detail sets it apart from any other silk scarf!

Alexia launched her label in 2005 and has since designed amazing collections of unique one-of-a-kind scarves and tops made from luxurious fabrics such as 100% silk, cashmere and woven wool. Alexia stands out as a designer as she has the unique flexibility to communicate to a very wide audience. Cleverly Wrapped is stocking 9 scarves from Alexia’s current range and if you take a look at them you will see how diverse they are. Her scarves can be worn by anyone of any age and they can be uniquely styled by the customer in whichever way they choose.

I met with Alexia last week at her studio in Acton. For Spring/Summer 2015 she is going to be stocking a resort-wear collection which I went to have a look at. It includes individually designed tops, sarongs and scarves made from 100% silks and cottons with vividly beautiful prints, suede fringing and awesome colours. I think they will make a great addition to the Cleverly Wrapped beachwear section which I plan to be much larger in the future.

So here’s hoping for a long and fruitful scarf collaboration between Cleverly Wrapped and Alexia Fashion. I need her scarves in my life!

Alexia Parmigiani herself shows you how to wear the iconic Alexia Chelsea Girl scarf. A fabulously luxurious, yet versatile scarf that can be worn in a variety of styles. The faux fur adds all the necessary glamour for any simple, chic outfit.
