Now we have been open seven whole days I have finally found the time to share a few more photos of the shop and the opening day. Below is Donna from @sulkydollstyling cutting the ribbon. We should have been outside but it was pouring with rain!
Meet the Cleverly Wrapped team – from left to right Nicky, Clare, Charlotte, Lisa and Julie. Everyone works one or two days a week and one Saturday a month. That gives us all flexibility for holidays which is highly important in my book!
The shop is split into two rooms. The front room is mainly scarves and tops and the back room is all resort wear and other accessories. We have a few shop only accessories too such as jewellery and hats.
I love this alcove. I want to get the back of it mirrored but one step at a time!
A great friend sent some Cleverly Wrapped biscuits for the opening. Needless to say they didn’t last long!
The shop doesn’t have a door on the high street as the entrance is down a side alleyway. There is plenty of signage to help with this. Slightly unusual to lease a shop without a front door I grant you but it’s a listed building so not much I can do!
The shop used to be an antiques shop many years ago. The original owner Elizabeth lives next door and she kindly arranged to have these lions heads painted in gold leaf. They look so smart. Anyone would think we are on Bond Street!
Here’s my landlord Rob with my mother – Cleverly Wrapped brand ambassador!
We were visited by a new Instagram friend @madamebshops a local French teacher who loves clothes and accessories.
These images are from Saturday when everyone seemed to be dressed in black. All friends coming to say hi and leaving with a CW bag. If you are a cyclist we will happily give you a drink, some coffee and an energy bar to help you on your way. Dogs are also welcome. Anything goes!
Please do pop in and say hello. For the first two months I will be in the shop every day so that I can train the staff and meet as many customers as possible.
